Wolfpack fires third-highest aggregate team score in program history
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The ninth-ranked NC State rifle team turned in a very strong performance at the NCAA Qualifier match this weekend, as the Wolfpack fired its third-best aggregate team score in program history with a 4670.
Â
NC State's air rifle team score of 2364 is the second highest in program history, while the Pack compiled a 2306 in smallbore.
Â
"We fired a pretty good score - just three points off our best ever, so in that context we're pleased with the performance," said head coach Keith Miller. Our air rifle was the second highest team score and our smallbore was a few points above our average. Individually, there were solid scores up and down the line. Lucas [Kozeniesky] and Lauren [Phillips] led us as they have all year, and it was good to see Caitlyn [Ford] put up a strong air rifle score with her 593."
Â
The Wolfpack currently sits ninth in the NCAA for aggregate team average and will await the NCAA Selection Show on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. The top eight teams will earn a spot in the NCAA Championships, while 48 individuals will also participate in the event.
