Pack Falls to No. 7 Northwestern

It's the Pack's second loss against a top-15 nationally ranked team this season. The Pack dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Oklahoma State in its previous match.
Match Recap:
Northwestern took the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. Ivan Saveljic and Igor Saveljic were on pace to upset the No. 54 duo of Konrad Zieba and Sam Shropshire, but their match was left unfinished at 5-4.
No. 67 Galarneau was the first singles match off for the Pack for the fifth-straight match. He won 6-2, 6-4 over Sam Shropshire to tie the match at 1-1. The reigning ACC Player of the Week has won five-straight matches and is 8-2 in his last 10 matches. The freshman is up to 11 overall wins this season.
Northwestern retook the lead with a victory at No. 4 singles, as Dominik Stary picked up a 6-1, 7-5 win over Georgiy Malyshev to help the Wildcats take a 2-1 lead. No. 25 Strong Kirchheimer defeated No. 68 Nick Horton 6-1, 7-5 to take a 3-1 lead.
Northwestern clinched the match with a win at No. 3 singles where Konrad Zieba defeated Igor Saveljic in three sets. Saveljic started off strong with a 6-3 win in the first set, however, Zieba took the match winning the next two sets 7-6, 6-0.
Northwestern finished off strong with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Jason Seidman defeated Chris Mikrovas in two sets, 6-2, 6-1, while Ben Vandixhorn picked up a 6-4, 5-6, 7-6 win against Michael Ogden.

NC State will be back in action Saturday against Minnesota. The match will be played at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center at 2:30 p.m.
