#PackXC Heads to Charlottesville for NCAA Southeast Regional

The women's 6K begins Friday, Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 11:30 a.m.
EARLYSVILLE, Va. – The Wolfpack men's and women's cross country teams continue postseason action Friday, Nov. 10 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships. The University of Virginia will host the meet, beginning with the women's 6K at 10:30 a.m.

NOTING THE SOUTHEAST REGIONAL
REWIND TO 2016
NC State swept men's and women's team titles at the 2016 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships for the first time since 2007. The Wolfpack men posted their lowest score since 2011 with a 90-point outing to beat Virginia by 15 points. NC State dominated the competition on the women's side with a score of 53, the lowest point total for the Wolfpack women since 2001.
The Pack totaled nine All-Region honorees, with five women and four men placing inside the top-25 at the regional meet. Erika Kemp led the Pack women with a second-place finish, while Sam Parsons took fourth place individually.
Current Pack runners Ryen Frazier (10th), Rachel Koon (11th), Alyssa Rudawsky (12th), Elly Henes (19th), Aubrey Myjer (10th) and Patrick Sheehan (20th) were also named All-Region in 2016.
LAST TIME OUT
The NC State women's program captured its 23rd conference title two weeks ago at the ACC Championships. Dominique Clairmonte, Elly Henes and Rachel Koon went 3-4-5, leading the Pack to a final tally of 43 points. All five of NC State's scoring runners were named All-ACC performers, including Beth Taye and Ryen Frazier who placed 10th and 21st, respectively.
On the men's side, the Wolfpack placed third with 98 points. It was the 27th time in the last 29 years that NC State placed in the top-three at the conference meet. Philip Hall, Joe Bistritz and Ben Barrett crossed the line nearly simultaneously for 14th, 15th, and 16th-place finishes. Ian Shanklin (23rd) and Aubrey Myjer (30th) rounded out the Wolfpack top five.
UP NEXT
The top two teams from each region will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA National Championships, while 13 other teams will be selected for at-large bids to the national meet.

- The Wolfpack men sit third in the most recent regional ranking, their highest nod of the season
