Women’s Soccer Set To Face Princeton In NCAA Second Round Friday

RALEIGH – The No. 21 NC State women's soccer team (15-5-1) is set to face No. 13 Princeton (15-2) for the second time this season in the second round of the NCAA Championship Friday. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park (Field #2) in Cary, N.C. The match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra and live stats can be found on the NCAA website.

Tickets can be purchased through host UNC-Chapel Hill's athletics website here. They are $10 for adults and $5 for kids (7-17) and seniors (55+).
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack hosted Arkansas in the NCAA First Round on Saturday at Dail Soccer Stadium, and earned a dominant 4-1 win. Tziarra King tallied goals in the first and second half, while Paige Griffiths and Kia Rankin each scored a goal in the final 25 minutes of the contest.
It was the 10th time in program history and second consecutive year the team has advanced out of the first round. Overall, NC State is now 11-11-4 in the NCAA Championship.
LAST MEETING WITH PRINCETON
NC State and Princeton met earlier in the season on Sept. 2 in Raleigh, and the Tigers came away with a 2-0 win. It was the Pack's first loss in the regular season.

Tziarra King continues to prove why she's one of the best players in the nation. She is currently ranked fourth and fifth, in respective order, among the NCAA in goals (16) and points (38), and is seventh and eighth, respectively, in goals per game (.76) and points per game (1.81). In the ACC she leads the conference in points and ranks second in the other three offensive categories.
Among the program she ranks sixth all-time for most goals in a single season and seventh for most points in a single season.
Defender Hannah Keogh has made an impact in the team's scoring success this year. The junior holds 10 assists this season, which ranks first in the ACC, eighth in the NCAA and sixth in program history for most in a single season. She also ranks 10th in the team's record book for most assists in a career with 17.
SCORING FIRST
NC State is undefeated when scoring first, holding a 14-0 record. The squad is also 10-0 when leading at halftime and has outscored its opponents 39-17 this season.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton shut out Monmouth 4-0 in the NCAA First Round last weekend and is currently on a four-match win streak. The Tigers earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after capturing its second Ivy League title in the past three years.
The Tigers have outscored its opponents 40-6 this season, and are led by Abby Givens and Mimi Asom with 10 goals apiece. Five other players on their roster are multi-goal scorers while the team holds a .436 shot-on-goal percentage.
Goalkeeper Natalie Gross has played 16 matches in goal for Princeton, recording 11 shutouts and a .38 goals against average. She has tallied 45 saves and an .882 save percentage.
