@PackWrestle Starts Season Ranked Eighth Nationally

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 2017-18 NC State wrestling season starts next weekend, as the Wolfpack will begin the year ranked No. 8 nationally in the first USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll.

NC State is the top ranked team from the ACC, but fellow schools Virginia Tech (#9), North Carolina (#22), and Pittsburgh (#24) are also ranked in the preseason top-25. In addition, NC State will face #2 Ohio State, #3 Oklahoma State, #15 Nebraska, and #19 Oklahoma during the regular season.

NC State has finished the regular season ranked in the top-10 in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll each of the last two seasons. Last year, the Pack closed the season at #8, while 2016 NC State was #2.

Dating back to that 2016 season, NC State has won 35 of its last 38 duals.

Wolfpack fans can catch @PackWrestle in action this weekend, as NC State will hold its wrestle-offs this Saturday before the NC State-Clemson football game at the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility, across the street from Carter-Finley Stadium. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.
