GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team sits in fifth place after two rounds of play at the UNCG/Grandover Collegiate played at the Grandover East Golf Course in Greensboro, NC.
UNC-Chapel Hill is in first place, with Duke sitting in second four shots back. Northwestern is one shot back of Duke in third place. The Pack is one shot back of Georgia State for fourth place.
Stephen Franken led the Pack effort on Saturday and sits in fifth place on the individual leaderboard after firing a 73 and 72 in the first two rounds.
Benjamin Shipp is three shots back of Franken in 11th place after shooting a 75 and 73.
Nolan Mills is next for the Pack, carding a 77 and 76 to close opening day in a tie for 34th place.
Easton Paxton and Harrison Rhoades round out the NC State lineup in a tie for 39th place after both players shot 77 in the first and second round.
NC State also had three players competing as individuals Saturday. Dwight Cauthen is in 20th place on the leaderboard after firing a 73 and 78 in the opening two rounds. Justin Hood and Christian Salzer are tied for 34th place after Hood carded a 76, 77 and Salzer a 79, 74
The third and final round begins Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
