Autry, Martin Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Current NC State softball sophomore Geena Autry and former member Molly Martin have been named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the NFCA.
The award is given annually to student-athletes that have maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better for the academic year.
Autry, a biochemistry major, turned in a 3.552 GPA for the 2016-17 academic year while appearing in 21 games and scoring nine runs for the Wolfpack.
Martin graduated in May with a degree in communication and boasted a 3.840 GPA last season. She made 46 starts in the infield, and wrapped up her collegiate career with a .215 batting average while collecting 23 hits and 21 runs. She also garnered All-ACC Academic Team honors in her final season with the Pack.
Additionally, the program recently earned Easton/NFCA Academic Team honors for its success in the classroom during the 2016-17 school year.
The squad welcomes six freshmen as well as two transfers to the team for 2018, while three seniors departed due to graduation or exhausted eligibility.
