
Wolfpack Posts Ten Top Eight Finishes On Day One Of Arena Pro Swim Series

Ipsen wins 400m free, Held takes second in 100m free
AUSTIN, Texas - The NC State swimming and diving team had a strong presence on the first day of competition on Friday evening at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin, Texas, recording 10 top-eight finishes inside UT's Texas Swim Center.
On the men's side Ryan Held had a strong first day of competition as he finished second in the 100m freestyle with a time of 49.32 and eighth in the 100m butterfly with a mark of 55.15. Soren Dahl swam in those same events, taking fifth in the fly after stopping the clock at 54.59 and seventh in the free in 50.53.
The men's team had two place among the top three of the men's 400m free, as Anton Ipsen won with a dominating time of 3:49.59 and Adam Linker placed third in 3:54.36.
The Wolfpack women had several impressive performances, including Alexia Zevnik's third-place finish in the 100m free as she touched the wall at 55.21. Kayla Brumbaum additionally won the B final of the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:28.79, while Hannah Moore took fifth in the 400m free after posting a time of 4:11.46.Â
Krista Duffield earned an eighth-place finish as she stopped the clock at 1:01.41 in the women's 100m butterfly, while Patrik Schwarzenbach also took eighth with a time of 2:18.68 in the men's 200m breaststroke.
NC State will continue action at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin Saturday, hosted by USA Swimming inside UT's Texas Swim Center. Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. ET and finals will commence at 7 p.m. ET.Â
