RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team has the privilege of being the first team to play in the newly renovated Reynolds Coliseum and the Wolfpack will do so Friday. NC State hosts the Wolfpack Invitational this weekend and will begin play in the event Friday at 11 a.m. against Delaware.
The Pack will also take on High Point at 7 p.m. Friday and conclude play in the tournament versus SMU Saturday at 7 p.m. All three of NC State's matches will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra, a digital channel accessible through Watch ESPN or the Watch ESPN App.
Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State posted a strong performance at the Ole Miss Invitational. The Wolfpack (4-3) defeated McNeese State and UT Arlington, before dropping a five-set battle with the host Rebels.

Scouting Delaware
The Delaware Blue Hens enter the weekend with a 4-2 overall record, after losing its two most recent matches against Florida Gulf Coast and VCU. Delaware will make the trip to Raleigh for a second consecutive year, as the Blue Hens competed in the Hilton Garden Inn Cary Classic last season.
NC State won last year's meeting, 3-0, to take a 4-0 advantage in the all-time series with the Blue Hens. Delaware was predicted to finish sixth in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) by the league's head coaches.
Maria Bellinger leads the team offensively with 51 kills, an average of 2.68 kills per set. At the setter position, Julia Anderson has dished out 182 assists or 9.58 assists per set. The Blue Hens' libero is Taylor Hollingsworth and she has collected 4.85 digs per set.
As a team, Delaware averages 11.85 kills per set and has a team attacking percentage of .216.
Scouting High Point
High Point is off to a strong start in 2016 with an overall record of 5-2 heading into Friday's matchup with NC State. The Panthers dropped a 3-1 decision at VCU Tuesday night in their most recent contest.
NC State leads the all-time series with High Point, 7-5, as the teams have not met since 2009 when the Pack suffered a 3-0 loss.
High Point has a team attacking percentage of .249 and averages 12.29 kills per set. Haley Barnes, an All-Big South selection last year, paces the Panthers offensively with 92 kills, an average of 3.29 kps. Jenna Smith and Carly Jimenez have split time at the setter position with the former handing out 5.43 assists per set and the latter, 5.11 aps. At libero, Amy Pilat leads the group with 3.46 digs per set.
High Point was chosen as the Big South preseason favorite in a poll by the league's head coaches. Also, Barnes was tabbed the preseason player of the year.
Scouting SMU
The SMU Mustangs own a 3-3 ledger heading into the Wolfpack Invitational this weekend. SMU defeated Alabama State in straight sets, 3-0, in its last outing.
NC State and SMU have met once in the history of the programs, as the Mustangs earned a 3-0 win at a neutral site in 1999.
SMU boasts a pair of returning All-America Honorable Mention selections in middle blocker Janelle Giordano and libero Morgan Heise. Redshirt junior Kaite Hegarty leads the team offensively with 3.85 kills per set, while Giordano has contributed 1.95 kps and 1.00 block per set.
Kendall Patterson is the team's setter and has passed out 10.00 assists per set. Heise ranks among the top 15 in the NCAA and leads the American Athletic Conference (AAC) with 5.40 digs per set.
The Mustangs were predicted to finish third in the conference's preseason poll.
Eppley Reaches 1,000 Career Digs Mark
Rachel Eppley reached 1,000 career digs in NC State's 3-1 win against UT Arlington on Saturday. The senior libero entered the contest with 990 and collected 15 digs in the match to surpass 1,000 for her career.
The Charlotte, N.C., native is just the third player in the rally-scoring era of the NC State volleyball program to reach the milestone.
Brown's Career High
Junior Julia Brown swatted a career-best 21 kills against UT Arlington to lead the Wolfpack to a 3-1 win. In addition, she recorded a .333 attacking percentage, as she only committed three errors on 54 attempts.
