Volleyball Travels to Syracuse for First ACC Road Trip

Wolfpack to meet Orange for fourth time as conference opponents
RALEIGH, N.C. – After opening Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play at home on Thursday, the NC State volleyball team will travel to New York for its first conference road trip against Syracuse.

First serve of Sunday's contest is slated for 1 p.m. inside the Women's Building. The Wolfpack enters the matchup with a 7-6 overall record and an 0-1 mark in ACC action, while the Orange are 2-9 and 1-0 in league play.

Series History
NC State and Syracuse will be meeting for the ninth time overall and fourth as league opponents. The Wolfpack leads the all-time series, 6-2, and has won two of three matchups with the Orange as ACC opponents.

Last year, the 'Cuse earned a 3-1 victory on their home court.

In its last outing, NC State dropped a five-set battle against rival UNC-Chapel Hill. The Wolfpack led, 2-1, in the contest, but the Tar Heels rallied to win the fourth and fifth sets to secure the victory.

Syracuse has struggled this season, compiling a 2-9 overall record but opened ACC play with a 3-1 win against Boston College Friday night. The Orange have a 2-4 record in home matches this year.

The 'Cuse have the lowest team attacking percentage in the conference with a .151 clip and also own the fewest kills per set as a team in the league with 10.26. Despite its offensive woes, Syracuse is second in the ACC with 2.92 blocks per set.

Mackenzie Weaver leads the team offensively with 2.41 kills per set, while Anastasiya Gorelina has swatted 2.36 kps. Jalissa Trotter handles the setting duties and has dished out 6.12 assists per set. Defensively, Amber Witherspoon averages 1.46 blocks per set and libero Belle Sand owns 3.49 digs per set.
