Three From Women’s Golf Wrap Up Play At World Am

Ko finishes sixth among 163 player field
RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico- Sophomores Leo Bettel and Naomi Ko and alumna Rachael Taylor of the NC State women's golf program wrapped up play at the 2016 World Amateur Women's Team championship on Saturday.
Bettel represented Austria, Ko is a native of Canada while Taylor competed with Team Scotland in the four-day tournament. The championship was hosted at Mayakoba El Camaleón and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Clubs in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
In the individual standings, Ko was the top finisher among the Wolfpack as she carded a six-under par 282 to take sixth among a 163-player field. Her outing was highlighted by a 66 (-6), as she led Team Canada to a ninth-place finish among the team competition with a 581.
Bettel was also the top scorer for her team, as she finished 44th with a four-day total of 299 (+11). She boasted scores of 73 the first two days and wrapped up the week with a 72, as Austria finished 21st on the leaderboard with a 595.
Taylor helped Scotland complete the week with a 27th-place finish, as she finished 91st individually with a score of 308 (+20).
Bettel and Ko will return to Raleigh to continue preparing for the Pack's first tournament of the season - the Cougar Classic at Yeaman's Hall Club Oct. 2-4.
