Wolfpack Softball Announces Fall Schedule

NC State to play seven exhibition contests
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State softball team will compete in seven exhibition games this fall and host five of those contests, head coach Shawn Rychcik announced Wednesday afternoon.

NC State will open its fall slate Friday, Oct. 7, when the Campbell Camels visit Raleigh. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. at Dail Stadium and 10 innings will be played in the contest, as teams are permitted to do during the fall.

The Pack welcomes Pitt Community College for its first fall doubleheader Thursday, Oct. 13. The first game of the twin bill is scheduled for 5 p.m. with the second game to follow.

Elon will travel to Raleigh for a fall doubleheader Friday, Oct. 14. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and the second game will begin after the conclusion of game one.

The Wolfpack will conclude its fall slate at East Carolina with a doubleheader slated for 5 p.m., Oct. 21. It will be NC State's lone road trip of the fall and will be held at the ECU Softball Stadium.

All fall games are exhibitions and will not count towards NC State's record during its competition season, which is in the spring. The Pack is permitted to play eight fall contests and may add an additional contest to meet the limit.

NC State returns four starters from last season, including All-Southeast Region selection Tyler Ross and All-ACC selection Molly Hutchison. The Wolfpack also welcomes a strong freshman class for the 2017 season, as three of the Wolfpack's five signees were named to the FloSoftball Top 100 Watch List.
