Hill advances to 5,000m Finals

EUGENE, Ore. – Ryan Hill, former NC State track and field distance runner, advanced to the USATF Olympic Trials 5,000m final after finishing second in his heat Monday night at Hayward Field.
Hill crossed the finish line in 13:47.99, taking second overall and earning an automatic qualifying spot in Saturday's 5,000m final. He closed the final 400m of the race in 54.45.
To earn a spot on Team USA for the 2016 Summer Olympics, Hill must finish top-three in the final. He enters the final having made the previous two international teams. He is also the defending US Champion in the event.
