Bettel, Overbey Post Strong Scores At Respective Tournaments

RALEIGH- NC State women's golf members Leonie Bettel and Cecily Overbey each wrapped up strong play last week in their respective tournaments.
Citizenguard LETAS Trophy 2016
Bettel had a strong showing on the professional circuit at the Citizenguard LETAS Trophy 2016 at Waterloo GC in Lasne, Belgium.
She shot a 76 (+3) on day one of play, and fired rounds of 72 and 73 to card a total of 221 and finish in a tie for 27th.
North And South Amateur
Overbey completed play at the North and South Amateur on Thursday at the famous No. 2 course in Pinehurst, N.C.
In the stroke play portion of the prestigious amateur tournament, she finished fifth after carding a 54-hole total of 222 (75-73-74) to advance to the Round of 16. This marked the second consecutive tournament she's advanced to the match play portion as she won the CGA Women's Match Play Championship last week.
In the Round of 16 Overbey fell to Sydney Needham, 2&1.
