Wolfpack Stars Head to USATF Olympic Trials

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State track and field program will have six former athletes competing at the USATF Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., from July 1-10th. Jonathan Addison, Graham Crawford, Kris Kornegay-Gober, Ryan Hill, Kenyetta Iyevbele and Alexis Perry are all slated to compete for spots on Team USA's track and field team at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The elite group are some of the most successful Wolfpack athletes in their respective events. Combined they have earned 11 school records, 13 ACC Championships and 19 All-America honors.

Jonathan Addison Long Jump Saturday July 2nd 4:45 pm
Addison enters with the eighth best seed in the long jump. He earned the mark this indoor season, jumping 26'9.75". Along with the trials mark, he also set an indoor school record and concluded the season tied with the best mark in the NCAA qualifying period. Addison is coming off an outdoor NCAA season where he finished 5th in the long jump and was a member of the Pack's seventh-place 4x100 team. To advance to Rio, Addison must finish top-12 in qualifying to move to the finals and then finish top-three in the finals to book his spot on Team USA.

Graham Crawford 1,500m Thursday July 7th 10:21 p.m.
Crawford was the final Wolfpack athlete to earn entry to the trials. After his NCAA season concluded, the Burlington, N.C. native posted a 3:37.08 at the Princeton qualifier to seal his spot. His times ranks 11th in the qualifying list. The mid-distance specialist must advance through three rounds of qualifying to earn a spot on the Olympic Team.

Kris Kornegay-Gober high jump Friday, July 8th 7:00 p.m.
The former Pack high jumper will represent Zensah/Shore Athletic Club. He jumped a season best 7'3.75" to book his spot at the trials. Entering the competition, he is the 16th seed. Kornegay-Gober concluded his Wolfpack career as the indoor high jump school record holder and won an ACC Championships in the event. A top-12 finish will earn him a spot in the finals.

Ryan Hill 5,000m Monday, July 4th 8:02 p.m.
Hill enters the competition as one of the national favorites to advance to Rio. He is coming off a USA Indoor Championship and a silver medal at World Indoors in the 3,000m. The standout distance runner will represent Bowerman Track Club and has the third seed of 13:05.69. Hill is also coming off two straight national team appearances.

Kenyetta Iyevbele 800m Friday July 1st 8:45 p.m.
Iyevbele earned her qualifying mark of 2:02.43 last season and ran throughout the year in preparation for the meet. Iyevbele is the Pack's indoor and outdoor 800m school record holder and earned All-America honors in the event during her Wolfpack career.

To advance to Saturday's semifinal she will need to finish top-two in her heat or be among the next six fastest times.

Alexis Perry long jump Friday, July 1st 8.10 p.m., 100m hurdles Thursday July 7th 8:02 p.m.
Perry is the only NC State athlete to earn multiple qualifying marks for the trials. The Durham, N.C., native qualified in the long jump during the regular season with a mark of 20'6.75" – good for the 13th seed. She then earned her 100m hurdles mark at the ACC Championships with a time of 12.93. She dipped under the 13-second mark three more times and concluded her NCAA career with a PR of 12.87.
