This marks her first accolade at NC State
GREENSBORO, N.C.- Rising senior Sarah Bae of the NC State women's golf team was named to the 2016 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office Tuesday afternoon.
A transfer from High Point, this marks the first honor of her career with the Wolfpack.
Bae competed in nine of the Pack's 10 tournaments during the 2015-16 season as she compiled a 75.8 stroke average. Two top-20 finishes highlighted her campaign, as she finished ninth with a total of 227 (+11) at the LSU Classic and 19th at the ACC Championship with a score of 223 (+7).
The Cary, N.C., native posted a 72 on the final day of the ACC Championship to help the program finish fifth, and was also a part of the NCAA Regional Championship team that finished 12th in Baton Rouge.
Of the 27 rounds she competed in, 21 of them counted towards the team's tournament score. Her career-low 18-hole score at NC State is a 71 (-1), which she carded on the final day of the Landfall Tradition to lead the team to its lowest single-day score in program history (279) and a sixth-place finish.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
