
NC State to Host Indiana for 2016 ACC/Big Ten Challenge

RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team will host Indiana in the 2016 installment of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the conference office announced Wednesday morning. On Thursday, December 1, the Wolfpack will host the Hoosiers inside the newly renovated Reynolds Coliseum.

The tip-off time and broadcast information will be released at a later date.

All-Time Series: NC State (3-0) vs. Indiana

Indiana posted a 21-12 record during the 2015-16 season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 before falling to Notre Dame by a final score of 87-70. The Hoosiers only lost one player to graduation and return an impressive trio of Tyra Buss (All-Big 10 First Team), Amanda Cahill (All-Big 10 Second Team), and Alexis Gassion, which combined to average 44.8 points per game. The Hoosiers are led by 2016 Big 10 Coach of the Year Teri Moren.

The ACC leads the Challenge 6-0-3 throughout the course of its nine-year history. The last two Challenges have been ties, and NC State struck the winning blow for the conference during the 2013 installment, winning 76-61 on the road over a Northwestern team which was receiving votes in the AP Top-25 Poll.

NC State is 3-6 in Challenge games. The Wolfpack has defeated Illinois twice in addition to the aforementioned victory at Northwestern. NC State and Indiana have never met in a Challenge game.
