Majority of @PackWrestle in Action this Weekend

2 traveling to UWW Junior World Team Trials and 17 to University Freestyle National Duals

Raleigh, N.C. - A majority of the 2016-17 NC State wrestling team will be in action this weekend, as 19 returning members of the Wolfpack will be competing at two different tournaments in freestyle.

NC State will have two grapplers traveling to Irving, Texas, to compete at the UWW Junior World Team Trials. R-So. Sean Fausz will be competing at 60 kg/132 lbs. on Sunday, while fellow R-So. Malik McDonald will wrestle at 96 kg/211 lbs. on Saturday. Both will be competing this weekend in freestyle.

Fausz and McDonald will vie for the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2016 UWW Junior World Championships in Macon, France, from Aug. 30-Sept. 4. Both must advance through the bracket to reach a best of three wrestle-off to decide the World Team.

17 members of next year's team will be in action at the inaugural University Freestyle National Duals in Fairfax, Va. on Saturday. The freestyle dual tournament is expected to have 24 teams attend - including ACC rivals Virginia and Pittsburgh, and teams will be matched by coaches committee. NC State will wrestle in multiple dual matches during the competition.
