She will compete for the Wolfpack in two events at the NCAA Championship
ATLANTA-Â Senior Rachel Mumma wrapped up an impressive showing at the 2016 Zone B Diving Championships Wednesday afternoon with a 12th-place finish on platform to qualify for the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship.
Hosted by Georgia Tech inside the McAuley Aquatic Center, she clinched a spot on Monday in the one-meter dive with a third-place finish in the event standings. This marks two events that Mumma will represent the Wolfpack in at the national meet.Â
Radman's Recap
"Today was a very solid final day at Zones. Tower isn't Rachel's strongest event, but she managed to qualify for NCAAs showing that she is capable of excelling in any event she competes in," said head diving coach Yahya Radman. "I think this validated her and our program a little more to those that follow NC State diving.Â
"Harrison did well considering his age and where he is in his training. I think he knows what has to be done next year in order to join the swimmers and be a big contributor, and I'm excited for his future.
"We'll now shift our focus onto next weekend and see how it goes. It's a fun time of the season and the diving program is excited to be able to help the swimmers in their quest for a top-10 finish."

Sophomore Harrison Mitchell completed his showing in Atlanta with a score of 262.35 to finish 22nd in the men's platform event.
