
Women’s Swimming And Diving Opens NCAA Championships With 800 Free Relay

The relay team finished 12th in the event standings
ATLANTA- The NC State women's swimming and diving team opened the 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with a 12th-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay.
Hosted by Georgia Tech inside the McAuley Aquatic Center, the team of Rachel Muller, Alexia Zevnik, Shelly Craddock and Natalie Labonge swam a time of 7:03.01. After not earning a qualifying bid in the event last year, the Wolfpack finished in the top half of a 27-team field to garner honorbale mention All-America honors.
The Wolfpack earned 10 points with the relay finish, putting NC State in 12th place heading into Thursday.
NC State will continue competition at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta Thursday. The team will return to action inside the McAuley Aquatic Center at 10 a.m., as live results and stream will be available for both sessions.
