GREENSBORO, N.C. – Jonathan Addison added another honor to his extensive list of career accolades Friday morning, as he was named the ACC Men's Field Performer of the Year, as announced by the league office.
ACC Release
The Raleigh native earned the accolade after a vote from the league's head coaches. This is his second ACC Men's Field Performer of the Year award. He previously earned the accolade during the 2015 outdoor season.
This season, Addison improved his indoor PR by 11.50" and cleared the 26' mark four times this season.
The Jump:
His best jump of the indoor season came at the Virginia Tech Elite meet. The leap of 26'9.75" broke the school record, tied him for the NCAA lead and qualified him for the USATF Olympic Trials.
At the end of the indoor season, the mark still tops the national charts.
Addison had a stellar postseason, capturing the ACC title in the long jump and finishing as the runner up at the NCAA Championships. He also earned First-Team All-ACC honors and was named the USTFCCCA Southeast Athlete of the Year.
Addison efforts helped lead the men's program to a final ranking of No. 14 – the highest national finish for the men's team since 1991.
