Fillard Wins Second-Straight EAGL Weekly Honor

BALTIMORE- After consistent performances on vault, beam and floor at UNC-Chapel Hill last weekend, freshman Caitlyn Fillard was named Co-EAGL Rookie of the Week for the second-straight time, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.

This marks the third honor of the 2016 season for the Centereach, N.Y., native, as she shares the honor with New Hampshire's Danielle Doolin.

In the Wolfpack's tri-meet at UNC-Chapel Hill with William and Mary, NC State came out on top with a team score of 194.050. The Tar Heels placed second with a score of 193.000 and the Tribe rounded out the standings with a 192.400.

Fillard tabbed top-10 finishes in the three events she competed on. She notched a mark of 9.750 on floor to tie for fifth place, and posted scores of 9.725 on vault and beam to tie for sixth and eighth, in respective order.

NC State will return to action when it travels to Iowa State to face the Cyclones, Nebraska and Wisconsin-La Crosse Feb. 21. The meet is set for a 3 p.m. ET start inside Hilton Coliseum.Â
