NC State looks for second top-10 win of the season

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team will look for its second top-10 win this season when the squad travels to No. 6 UNC-Chapel Hill Wednesday evening. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. inside Carmichael Arena and it will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.

The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 17-11 overall record and a 10-6 mark in ACC play, while the Tar Heels are 23-3 and 15-1 in conference action.

Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State picked up its eighth sweep of the season and fifth in conference play with a 3-0 win against Clemson. The Wolfpack completed the season sweep against the Tigers, as the Pack also earned a 3-0 sweep in the first meeting between the squads this year.

Scouting UNC-Chapel Hill
The UNC-Chapel Hill Tar Heels have been enjoying a very strong 2016 campaign, as the squad is currently ranked sixth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The Tar Heels rallied for a 3-2 victory against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in their most recent outing, after trailing 2-0 in the match.

In the first meeting between the teams this season, NC State owned a 2-1 lead against UNC before the Tar Heels came back to defeat the Wolfpack in five sets, 3-2.

Taylor Leath leads the squad offensively with 294 kills or 3.06 kills per set, while Julia Scoles is second with 249 kills. Abigail Curry and Mariah Evans have split time at the setter position, with the former handing out 6.70 assists per set and the latter, 3.92. Defensively, Sheila Doyle owns 4.45 digs per set.

UNC has a team attacking percentage of .267, while limiting its opponents to a .165 clip.
