
Four to Compete in ITA All-American Championships

Raleigh, N.C.- The NC State women's tennis team will send four to the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California. The competition will be broken into three stages: prequalifying, held on October 1-2, qualifying, held on October 4-5, and main draws, held on October 6-9.
No. 29 Martina Frantova will represent the Wolfpack in singles competition. After impressive spring and summer competition, Frantova was selected to begin play in the qualifying matches, and is set as an alternate for the main draw matches. Frantova made her season debut at the Wolfpack Invitational on September 23-25, where she won two singles matches.
In doubles competition, NC State will send two pairs: the No. 24 duo of Martina Frantova and Tayla Stenta will participate in the qualifying rounds, as will No. 50 Â team of Claudia Wiktorin and Bianca Moldovan. Frantova/Stenta competed in the Wolfpack Invitational, finishing competition with a 1-2 record. Likewise, Wiktorin/Moldovan wrapped up competition with only one loss, going 2-1.Â
The competition will also presents an opportunity to qualify for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship, as main draw singles semifinalists, main draw doubles finalists and main draw consolation champions will receive automatic entry. The Championships are set to be held in Flushing, NY on November 3-6.Â
