No. 10 NC State Rifle Set for GARC Match with 14th-ranked Navy

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 10^th-ranked NC State rifle team will head to Charleston, S.C., this weekend for a Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) matchup with No. 14 Navy. The event will take place inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel's campus.

Competition is slated to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and live targets will be available at this LINK.

The Wolfpack enters the weekend with a 2-2 record on the season and a 1-1 mark in conference action, while the Midshipmen are 5-2 and 0-2 in league competition.

Last Time Out
In NC State's most recent outing, the Wolfpack earned a 4650-4648 GARC victory against Akron in Ohio. A strong air rifle performance by the Pack helped the squad secure the win thanks to three NCSU shooters finishing in the top five.

Last Meeting with Navy
NC State won the last meeting between the teams on Oct. 17, 2015, in Annapolis, Md., by a final score of 4654-4620. The Wolfpack's aggregate score at the time broke the program record, as did the squad's air rifle (2350) and smallbore (2304) marks.

Kozeniesky Breaks Program Record
Wolfpack Olympian Lucas Kozeniesky broke the program record last weekend at Akron with a score of 597 in the air rifle event. The mark bested the previous record, which he held along with teammate Caitlyn Ford (596), by one point.

The Fairfax, Va., native fired a 99 on his first three series and then closed out the event strong with perfect 100s on his final three series of air rifle.
