"This event has been a huge focus for our program this fall. Our goal was to be as competitive as possible, and we certainly achieved that with many long and extremely high-level matches." Coach Earnshaw commented, "Today, I couldn't be prouder of the way the girls competed and represented our program. Martina played at the highest level I have seen in her time here, and to have managed to do that for almost 7 hours speaks volume of the progress she has made. It's too bad that her draw wasn't more favorable considering that she was the highest ranked player in the event, however she made the absolute best of the situation, and I really believe this was her best overall performance for our program. Adriana also showed that she can compete with the best players in the country, and is getting closer to a breakthrough."Â
"Doubles was close ultimately. We made a very sluggish start which has been a trend with our early matches this fall. However, the 2nd set we were able to get an early break and then it was close throughout. Tayla did a great job keeping us in the match, we just didn't manage to get ahold of the points that mattered most when it came down to it. We have made huge progress this fall and hope to continue that at least through the remainder of our tournament schedule. It's clear what we need to work on and I'm excited for us to finish strong in the two upcoming fall events. Go Pack!!!"
