Wolfpack Ready for ITA Carolina Regionals

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team will travel to Chapel Hill to compete in the ITA Carolina Regional. Competition will include schools from North Carolina and South Carolina, and is set to run Thursday through Monday. Players will compete in hopes of advancing to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships in November. This will mark the first time the team will play together since the Wolfpack Invitational nearly four weeks ago.Â
Three Wolfpack doubles teams are set to compete: No. 24 Martina Frantova and Tayla Stenta, No. 50 Claudia Wiktorin and Bianca Moldovan, and Amanda Rebol and Anna Rogers. Rebol played with Rogers at the Wolfpack Invitational and won three matches. The duo will look to add more to that count this weekend.Â
On the singles side of competition, seven Wolfpacker women, Frantova, Stenta, Wiktorin, Moldovan, Rebol, Rogers, and freshman Adriana Reami, are set to play.
Doubles Draws
Two Wolfpack tandems will recieve a bye going into the first round of play. No. 24 Frantova/Stenta will play the winner of Blaine Boaz/Masey Demoss (UNCG) versus Ayan Broomfield/Constanza Gorches (Clemson) in the second round. No. 50 Wiktorin/Moldvan will play the winner of Sara Reickmann/Catherine White (Gardner Webb) versus Caitlin Cridland and Lauren Proctor (Winthrop). Rebol/Rogers will play Isabel Boada/Georgina Segarra (Campbell) in the first round of play.
Singles Draws
Tayla Stenta will start off competition as top-seed in the qualifying round. She will compete against Michelle Castro (ECU) for a place in the main draw.
The Competition
UNCG, Clemson, Elon, UNC, Winthrop, Duke, Garner Webb, USC, Charlotte, WFU, UNC Wilmington, ECU, Furman, Davidson, Upstate, App State, UNC Asheville, and Presbyterian will make up the regional.
