Â
Turning Point: Despite leading for the most of the contest, NC State's lead dwindled to just three points with 14:29 left in the game. The Wolfpack went on an 11-4 over the next three minutes to increase its lead to 56-46.
Â
Down the stretch, Miami pressed the Pack's lead again, this time pulling within 64-59 with 4:33 left to play. The Wolfpack answered once again, going on an 8-2 run to take a 12-point lead with 2:33 to go. After the run, NC State continued to pull away and led by as many as 18 points.
Gott Said It: "I'm really proud of our team. I liked our enthusiasm and energy. I liked it in practice the past two days and it carried over for us into the game. We beat a really good team. Miami is a really good basketball team. Watched them on tape almost every night and they are a hard team to guard because of the way they use ball screens. Our guys did a good job defending them and we finished the game really strong. Making foul shots, executing and sharing the ball. I'm certainly proud of the way they bounced back after the frustrating night on Wednesday. I liked our enthusiasm, that was the biggest thing."
Up Next: The Pack travels to Tallahassee, Fla., for its next game against Florida State. The game is slated for Feb. 1 at 9 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
