10th-ranked NC State Rifle Travels to No. 1 West Virginia

Wolfpack hopes for strong performance against nation’s top team

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 10^th-ranked NC State rifle team heads to Morgantown, W. Va., this weekend for a matchup with No. 1 West Virginia. Action is set to get underway Saturday at 8 a.m. inside the WVU Rifle Range.

The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 23-3 overall record and a 5-2 mark in Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) action. The Mountaineers are a perfect 9-0 on the year, highlighted by a 5-0 tally in GARC competition.

In its last outing, NC State fired another solid team score at Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) 6 with a total of 4650 to finish first at the event.

The Pack has elevated its performance significantly in the first three matches of 2016, averaging a team score better than 4640 in each of those contests. During that time frame, NC State shooters have set more than 20 personal-best scores and all three team records have been broken.
