Rifle Opens 2015-16 Season at SEARC 1 on Saturday

Wolfpack travels to VMI for first competition
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State rifle team will kick off the 2015-16 season on Saturday at the first South Eastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) match, held in Lexington, Va., at VMI's Rifle Range.

"We're taking the entire team with us this weekend, which is always great," said head coach Keith Miller. "We'll be able to see how far along our freshmen are and how much our returners have improved to help set our lineup moving forward."

Last season, the Wolfpack won its fourth consecutive SEARC Championship and claimed its ninth title in the league. Junior Lucas Kozeniesky finished second at the event in the individual competition to claim All-SEARC honors, while classmate Alex Martin also collected the honor.

NC State opens the season at VMI for the first time since 2013, when the squad also started the year in Virginia. Freshmen Tyler Lefebvre, William Marciniak, Claire Spina and Cullen Wargo will make their collegiate debuts at the event.
