Clyburn (-6) Ties For Title At Mercedes Collegiate

FINAL RESULTS
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Freshman India Clyburn tied for medalist honors as the top individual at the Mercedes Women's Collegiate, which finished Tuesday in Knoxville, Tenn. Clyburn tied with Taylor Kim of Kent State by shooting 6-under for the three rounds. Kim would birdie the second playoff hole to claim the individual title.
Clyburn (68-69-70--207) birdied three holes and was under par for the third straight round while becoming just the third NC State freshman - and first since 2012 - to finish a tournament at the top of the individual standings. Rachael Taylor (+11) tied for 38th in the 78-player field, while Sarah Bae (+12) and Leonie Bettel (13) each finished among the top 50.
The Wolfpack, with three freshmen and a sophomore in its lineup, placed seventh in the 14-team event. Kent State won the tournament by nine shots over host school Tennessee.
NC State's next tournament will be Oct. 9-11 at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. Fall play concludes Oct. 23-25 at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
