The NC State women's tennis team will host the first tournament of the fall season
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women's tennis team will host its first tournament of the fall season welcoming Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and Georgia State. The Wolfpack Invitational begins on Friday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. will consist of a three-day tournament schedule.
The Pack returns just three players from the 2014 season along with five new additions to the roster. Sophomore transfer Martina Frantova, a Mississippi State transfer, will make her debut with the Pack, while freshmen Barbara Mancera, Bianca Moldovan, Amanda Rebol and Claudia Wiktorin begin their collegiate careers at this weekend's home event.
Earnshaw's Input
"Putting the match and tournament schedule together this season, I thought it was going to be very important, given the number of new players we have, to get some experience playing at home early and possibly before the spring. Thus, the best way to accomplish that was to host a fall event.
For our team it's still early days but this event is going to really help accelerate the transition and development process, particularly with the new players. It's going to be exciting to see this group get out there and compete and I'm sure they are anxious the fall season is finally here." – Simon Earnshaw, head coach

Both Mississippi State and Virginia Tech reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season. The Wolfpack defeated Georgia State 4-3 at home last year during regular season play. All three teams return with experienced line-ups.
