Bilis, Dahl Complete Showing at World Championships

Dahl earned a berth to the 2016 Olympic Games
KAZAN, RUSSIA-Â Simonas Bilis and Soren Dahl of the NC State men's swimming and diving team completed competition Sunday at the 2015 FINA World Championships, held in Kazan, Russia.
Bilis, a senior on the squad, represented Lithuania while Dahl, a junior, competed for Denmark.
Bilis, who hails from Panevezys, swam in the 50m freestyle, finishing 20th of 113 competitors with a mark of 22.51, as well as the 4x100m free relay where his squad posted a time of 3:20.15 to finish 19th.Â
Dahl competed in the 50m butterfly, touching the wall in 24.13 to finish in a tie for 28th of 80 swimmers. A native of Copenhagen, he also swam the third leg of Denmark's 4x200 free relay, helping his squad touch the wall in 7:13.72 to earn a berth to the 2016 Olympic Games as well as a Danish national record.
 With conclusion of the championship, both will return to Raleigh to begin preparation for the 2015-16 season.Â
