NC State Team Elects 2015 Leadership Council, Group Asks for Open Practice for Students

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack football squad elected its Leadership Council for the 2015 season on Sunday, head coach Dave Doeren announced today. Each position unit selected its representatives to the vital group that will provide guidance for the Wolfpack during the upcoming campaign. The Leadership Council offers input for Doeren and the coaching staff on certain decisions and it also gives the players a voice if they have a idea that they want brought before the coaches.
"Leadership is something that our team works hard to develop and really takes pride in," said Doeren. "These young men will not only be leaders, they will help their teammates develop into leaders. This group has earned the respect of their peers and takes this honor very seriously."
Following its first meeting, the Leadership Council asked Doeren if the team could hold an open practice for NC State students this week. Doeren has agreed to open Friday morning's practice to all NC State students. The workout will take place at the Dail Practice Facility on WestChase Blvd., beginning at 9:45 a.m. and running through noon. Students can park in the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility lots across the street, or take the Wolfline to Carter-Finley Stadium. A valid NC State student ID must be shown at the gate to gain admittance.
"I'm proud of this group for wanting to give back to our student body," Doeren continued. "We're hoping that any student that doesn't have class during that time can come out and get an inside look at this year's team."
The Leadership Council is comprised of players from all classes. In addition to the six young men who were elected to represent the freshmen, there are eight seniors, five juniors, six sophomores and one redshirt freshman.
