Summer Golf: Pribonic Wins Carolinas 4-Ball, Former Players Advance Pro Careers

PRIBONIC WINS CAROLINAS 4-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Junior Stephanie Pribonic and teammate Courtney McKim combined to win the Carolinas Women's 4-Ball Championship at Catawba Country Club. The duo trailed by three shots heading into the second and final day, but fired a 4-under 68 to pull out the victory. It was the first Carolinas Golf Association championship for Pribonic and McKim, a 24-year-old who played college golf at Alabama.

McGETRICK, MARCHAND ADVANCE AT LPGA QUALIFIER
Former Wolfpack players Lindsay McGetrick and Brittany Marchand have advanced to the second stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament. The two NC State alums were among 60 players to make the cut to Stage II.
McGetrick (75-70-76-70--291) tied for 42nd and Marchand (72-77-66-77--292) was one shot behind in 48th place. Marchand fired a 66 on the third day of the tournament, which was held in Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The two players will now continue their quest to make the pro tour Oct. 22-25 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. The third and final stage is in early December at Daytona Beach, Fla.

KO PLACES THIRD AT CANADIAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Naomi Ko, who will arrive as an NC State freshman this month, finished third overall at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in Rokeby, Saskatchewan, Canada. She shot 1-over for the tournament, which was held at Deer Park Municipal Golf Course. The performance rounded out a stellar summer for Ko, who finished second at the Ontario Women's Amateur Championship and made the quarterfinal at the U.S. Girls Junior Open in Tulsa.
