Great Danes Come Away With Success At Danish Nationals

Anton Ipsen collected four gold medals in as many events
COPENHAGEN, Denmark- Soren Dahl, Anton Ipsen and Andreas Schiellerup of the NC State men's swimming and diving team all enjoyed success at the 2015 Danish Nationals, which was held July 4-8 in Copenhagen, Denmark.Â
Ipsen, a sophomore from Birkerod, Denmark, took home a gold medal in all four events he competed in: the 400, 800 and 1,500m freestyle, as well as the 400m individual medley.Â
He notched a time of 3:51.18 in the 400m free, touched the wall in 8:01.95 in the 800m free, recorded a mark of 15:30.03 in the 1,500m free and swam a time of 4:27.62 in the 400m IM.
For Dahl, a junior from Copenhagen, he won the 50m butterfly with a time of 24.29, took the runner up spot in the 100m butterfly after touching the wall in 53.72 and finished third in the 50m free with a mark of 23.39.
In the 50m free Schiellerup finished .10 seconds in front of Dahl to take second place with a time of 23.29. The junior from Birkerod also finished third in the 50 and 100m backstroke with times of 26.22 and 56.60, respectively.Â
