Wolfpack Set to Compete at USATF Outdoor Championships

Competition is slated for June 25-28
RALEIGH, N.C. – Kenyetta Iyevbele and Quashawn Cunningham of the NC State track and field team will compete at the USATF Outdoor Championships against the best competition in the United States.
The event will take place in Eugene, Ore., June 25-28. The meet includes the Senior as well as Junior USA Championships.
Athletes will attempt to earn spots on the 2015 IAAF World Championships team, set for August 22 through 30 in Beijing, China, as well as on the Pan Am Games, Thorpe Cup, Pan Am Juniors and NACAC Championships teams.
Iyevbele will compete in the senior 800m race. She qualified at the Portland Track Festival, crossing the finish line in 2:03.01. In addition to her qualification the time also reset the school record, which she has done numerous times throughout the season.
Iyevbele will race on Thursday at 6:40 p.m. ET in the first round.
Cunningham is set to compete in the junior 100m dash. The freshman posted a season-best mark of 10.55 at the Duke Invitational to qualify him for the event.
He can earn a spot on the junior national team with a strong performance. His first-round race is slated for Thursday at 6:45 p.m. ET.
