Recent graduate claims fourth honor in as many years
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Austin Powell was named to the 2015 men's tennis All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
For the Muscle Shoals, Ala., native, this marks the fourth time in as many years that he has received the honor, as he graduated May from NC State's Poole College of Management.
On the court Powell amassed a 20-15 singles record during his senior campaign while defeating four nationally-ranked opponents. He finished his career with 91 singles wins, which ties for the third-most wins in school history.
To be eligible for consideration for the squad, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
