EUGENE, Ore. -- Alexis Perry garnered second-team All-America honors, and a trio of seniors concluded their collegiate careers, as the NC State women's track and field team competed in the NCAA Championships.
Kenyetta Iyevbele, Tremanisha Taylor, and Joanna Thompson concluded their careers with the Wolfpack. They have been instrumental to the team's success the past four seasons, earning a combined seven All-America honors, and three school records.
100m Hurdles:
Perry reached a new personal best in the 100m hurdles, as she finished in 13th place with a mark of 13.14. Her time ranks second in school history. The finish earned her second-team All-America honors.
Perry is now a two-time All-American after earning the honor in the long jump at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships. She concludes her junior season with second team All-America honors, two NCAA East Preliminary qualifications, two All-ACC honors and two ACC silver medals.
800m:
Iyevbele finished 20th in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 2:09.12. She closes out her career as the school record holder in the 800m and a member of the school-record holding distance medley relay (DMR) team. She is also a two-time All-American, with honors in the 800m (2011) and DMR (2015).
10,000m:
Thompson crossed the finish line in 34:49.29 to earn 19th place in the 10,000. She concludes her Wolfpack career with three All-America honors between cross-country and track and field, as well as a host of conference and regional awards.
Thompson also dominated in the classroom. The Knoxville, Tenn., native has made the Academic All-ACC Team 10 times throughout her career, and was a recipient of the ACC postgraduate scholarship.
Shot Put:
In field events, Taylor concluded her comeback season, placing 20th in the women's shot put with a throw of 50'7.50". Taylor underwent major back surgery in December, and missed the indoor season, and a portion of outdoor season.
She was originally slated to only compete in the discus, but after successful rehab, Taylor was cleared to compete in the shot put. Despite only having five attempts in the event all season, Taylor won bronze at the ACC Championships, qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary, and made an appearance at the NCAA Championships.
She concludes her career with two All-America honors, seven All-ACC honors and the school record in the shot put.
