Athletes to Watch at #ACCOTF: Friday

TALLAHASSE, Fla. -- After two silver medals and having several athletes qualify for the finals, the Wolfpack is off to a strong start at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Outdoor Championships. The Pack is looking to build off the momentum on Friday. Below is a full breakdown of the Pack's entries in Friday's #ACCOTF events.
Shot Put:
Tremanisha Taylor is competing in her final ACC Championships. The All-American has competed in the shot put just two times this season, but already holds the conference's sixth-highest seed and the 28th-best mark in the region at 50'4.00". Alyssa Dunn is also competing in the event. A strong performance on Friday could lift her to a regional qualifying mark.
Jule Rich is the lone shot put competitor on the men's side. Rich enters with the 14th seed of 54'11.50". On Thursday, Rich took 15th in the men's hammer throw.
Men's High Jump:
Jonathan Addison will compete in the high jump as he looks to defend his ACC Indoor Championships gold medal. The junior enters the championships with the conference's second-highest seed of 6'11.75". He is coming off of a silver-medal performance in the long jump.
Decathlon:
Grant Rivers will conclude the decathlon. He is currently in 13th place. Friday's decathlon events include the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and the 1,500m run.
Hurdles:
After earning eight points for the women's team on Thursday in the long jump, Alexis Perry is aiming for another top performance. The jumps and hurdles specialist enters the 100m hurdles with the second-best seed in the conference. Her mark of 13.17 is also a top-20 regional and national mark.
On the men's side, Dorian Williams and Josh Gandy hold top-15 seed times. They will race in the 110m hurdles
400m:
Tianna Patillo will compete in the 400m. Patillo has posted strong improvements in the event this season, shaving 2.08 seconds off since her first attempt. She is aiming to continue her improvements in the event.
On the men's side Will Krehnbrink highlights the Wolfpack competitors. Krehnbrink enters as the 13th seed with a mark of 47.61. Acey Calhoun, Shannon Patterson and Brian Davis are also running in the event for the Pack.
100m:
In addition to the high jump, Addison will also compete in the preliminaries of the 100m dash on Friday. During the indoor conference championships, Addison's fourth place finish in the 60m dash earned him second-team All-ACC honors. He is the fifth seed with a time of 10.49.
Quashawn Cunningham is also running in the event. He sits right behind Addison with the conference's sixth-best mark.
On the women's side, Paisley Simmons will look to continue her good form. After finishing fourth overall to advance to the 200m dash finals, Simmons will look to also make the finals of the 100m dash. Last outdoor season, Simmons earned All-ACC honors as a freshman in the event.
800m:
Kenyetta Iyevbele will run in the 800m race as the fifth seed with a mark of 2:06.17. Iyevbele holds the school record in the event, and has qualified for the regional in each of her previous three full seasons of competition. In 2011, Iyevbele earned All-America honors in the event.
On the men's side, a trio of Wolfpack men will run. Vibushan Sivakumaran, John Wolfe and Abdur Rahmaan Kelly will all compete for the Wolfpack. Sivakumaran was the final Wolfpack athlete to book his spot in the conference championships, posting a qualifying mark of 1:50.67 at the Duke Twilight.
Steeplechase:
Olivia Enright is Pack's lone athlete in the steeplechase. The junior holds a 10:37.07 mark in the event, which is good for the 12th seed.
