NC State Places Six on All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC State track and field team placed six on the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Indoor Track and Field Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Jonathan Addison, Jule Rich and Jacob Thomson represented the men's team, as Joanna Thompson, Erika Kemp and Megan Moye earned spots on the women's team.
 
Thompson leads the group with her third-straight appearance on the indoor academic team, while Addison and Rich make their second-consecutive appearance. Thomson, Kemp and Moye are all first-time selections.
 
In addition to his academic honor, Addison concludes his indoor season with second team All-America honors, Southeast Region Performer of the Year, ACC Field Co-MVP and an individual ACC Championship in the high jump.
 
Rich had a strong season in the throwers circle. The junior earned 13 top-10 finishes and took seventh in the weight throw at the ACC Championships.
 
On the track, Thomson supplemented his strong academic performance with a pair of top-10 finishes at the ACC Championships. The freshman also ran in the prestigious Millrose Games and the Camel City Elite Races during the season.
 
On the woman's side, senior distance runner Thompson picked up her eighth All-ACC academic honor between track and cross country. The senior finished the indoor season with second team All-ACC honors after a fourth-place finish at the ACC Championships.
 
Kemp finished third in the 5,000m at the ACC Championships to earn first team All-ACC honors, and added a ninth-place finish in the 3,000m at the conference championships. The junior concluded the season with four-top 10 finishes.
 
Moye rounds out NC State's selections to the team. She earned first team All-America honors in the women's DMR, and had three top-10 finishes at the ACC Championships. 
 
To be eligible for consideration on the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his/her academic career.
