FORT WORTH, Texas- Making program history Friday evening, juniors Brittni Watkins and Michaela Woodford represented the NC State gymnastics team as all-around competitors in the second semifinals session at the NCAA Championship.
The first day of the national championship was held inside the Forth Worth Convention Center Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, and co-hosted by Texas Woman's University and Knight Eady Sports Group.
"Brittni and Michaela carried themselves with class and competed with pride at the NCAA Championships. They embraced the moment and deserved to be there.
"In the first rotation, Brittni was on beam and Michaela was on floor, as the other events were complete, so it was only NC State out there for everyone to watch. That was a great moment for them and our program. Both girls did great, and Brittni earning second team All-America honors was icing on the cake. We are very proud of both of them."- Colleen Johnson, associate head coach
