Addison named Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS - Jonathan Addison continues to rake in the accolades. The Raleigh, N.C., native was named USATFCCCA Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year, as announced by the organization's office on Friday.
He is NC State's first male student-athlete to earn the mention for the men's field performances. Karimah Shepherd last won the Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year in 2013 for her performances in women's jumps, and Ryan Hill received the honor for men's track in 2012.
Addison won the award just one week after earning Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Field Co-MVP at the ACC Indoor Championships. Addison finished the meet with gold in the high jump, silver in the long jump and fourth place in the 60m dash for a total of 23 points to lead the Wolfpack men's team.
He has nine top-three finishes on the year and has earned multiple marks in NC State's all-time best's lists in the 60m dash and long jump.
Addison will compete at NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.,March 13-14. He is currently ranked fourth in the long jump with a mark of 25'10.25".
The awards are based on the votes of USATFCCCA member coaches.
