Wolfpack Athletes Aiming for High Marks at NCAAs

Jonathan Addison - Long Jump,Friday 6 p.m.
RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State track and field program will send seven student athletes to Fayetteville, Ark.,March 13-14for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Wolfpack will be represented this weekend by: Jonathan Addison (long jump), Alexis Perry (long jump), Nicole Chavis (weight throw), and the women's distance medley relay (DMR) team consisting of Samantha George, Kenyetta Iyevbele, Tiana Patillo and Megan Rempel.
What's On the Line:
Each event features the top-16 performers in national standings. First place will become an individual national champion, while the top eight will be first team All-Americans and score points for their team.

Addison checks in at No. 4 in the national standings after posting a mark of 25'10.25" at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite.
Addison has been NC State's top performer in the high jump, long jump and 60m dash this season.
His performance has earned him numerous post-season awards. Addison was named Southeast Region Field Performer of the Year as well as Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Field Co-MVP at the ACC Indoor Championships.
Addison scored 23 points en route to the ACC honor. The junior from Raleigh won gold in the high jump and silver in the long jump, while also placingfourth in the 60m dash.
Alexis Perry - Long Jump,Friday6 p.m.
Perry's postseason has gotten off to a good start, as she became anconference champion in the long jump and scored points in the 60m hurdles atthe ACC Championships.
To qualify for nationals, Perry set an indoor personal best with a jump of 21'1.50" at the Bob Pollock Invitational earlier in the season. The mark sits at No. 7 in the national standings.
Nicole Chavis - Weight Throw,Friday4 p.m.
Chavis is competing at nationals for the second year in a row. Last year, Chavis earned All-America honors after finishing sixth in the weight throw.
She will look to continue her fine form this season after breaking her own school record in her latest two events.
At the ACC Championships, Chavis broke the 70' mark with a throw of 70'3. 75". The mark was good for All-ACC honors and 11th place in national standings.
Megan Rempel, Tiana Patillo, Kenyetta Iyevbele and Samantha George - DMR,Friday 9:05 p.m.
The women's DMR ofRempel, Patillo, Iyevbele and George set a school record of 11:11.23 at the UCS Invitational. The conversion rate of running on a flat 200m track brought the time down to 11:04.12, good for 10th in the national standings.
The DMR has also had success with multiple lineups throughout the season. At the ACC Championships, the team claimed bronze, while another lineup broke the school record for the first time this season at the SPIRE Invitational.
