NC State is the highest-ranked EAGL team in the standings

RALEIGH- The NC State gymnastics team was picked 27^th in the 2016 NCAA Preseason Poll, announced by RoadToNationals.com Tuesday.

The Wolfpack was also picked to finish second last week amongst the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) in the conference's preseason poll.

In the national preseason poll, NC State is the highest-ranked EAGL squad, as New Hampshire and George Washington are listed at No. 33 and 35, respectively. UNC-Chapel Hill, Pittsburgh and Towson are all receiving votes to round out the conference.

The squad finished 25^th in last season's final standings, the program's highest national finish since 2012.

Looking to the Pack's competition schedule, of the 13 opponents the team will face in 2016, five of the squads are ranked in the top-36 while five others are receiving votes.

NC State will open its schedule at No. 17 Penn State Jan. 9, followed a trip to Las Vegas to match up with No. 5 LSU Jan. 14.
