TAMPA - The NC State men's basketball team claimed its first road win of the season in resounding fashion, cruising to a 65-46 victory at South Florida on Sunday. The Wolfpack (6-3) led by 20 at halftime, maintaining its lead through the entire second half.
In what was an outstanding defensive night for the Pack, holding South Florida to just 295 shooting and just five made field goals in the first half. NC State also hounded USF into 14 turnovers and 2-for-12 shooting from beyond the arc.

Inside The Box Score: BeeJay Anya collected a career-high 17 points and five blocks against the Bulls. Anya, who shot 7-for-8 from the floor, leads the ACC with 27 rejections on the season. Abdul-Malik Abu posted his fourth career double-double, featuring a career-high 14 rebounds. Anya and Abu also combined for six dunks. Anthony 'Cat' Barber led all scorers with 19 points.
Turning Point: Both teams started slowly, with NC State leading 15-10 nearly 10 minutes into the game. The Pack then clamped down defensively and turned stops into points, posting a 15-1 run over a span of 7:19. At that point, State led 30-11 and would extend the lead for the rest of the day.
Other Guys Made Some Treys: After eight games, only Maverick Rowan and Caleb Martin had made a 3-pointer this season for the Pack. Anthony 'Cat' Barber and Shaun Kirk got into the act, each making one from long range. The 3-pointer was the first career 3-pointer and second field goal for Kirk.
Up Next: NC State has three games before a brief holiday break. The Pack is in action at home Wednesday, Dec. 16 when High Point comes to PNC Arena. NC State will then travel to Missouri next weekend.
