No. 12 Rifle Heads to Ohio for Weekend’s Matches

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 12^th-ranked NC State rifle team will head to Akron, Ohio, this weekend for a trio of matches. The Wolfpack will face No. 7 Ohio State Saturday and a pair of Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) foes, 16^th-ranked Ole Miss and 14^th-ranked Akron, Sunday.

This weekend's matches will serve as a rehearsal for the 2016 NCAA Championships, which will be hosted by Akron. Eleven of the teams in the top-25 poll will also participate in the event, but will not be officially scored against the Wolfpack.

NC State enters the weekend with a 15-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in GARC play. In its last outing, the Wolfpack defeated The Citadel by a score of 4624-4389.

The Pack broke the program record for highest air rifle team score with a 2353 clip, besting the previous mark by two points (2350). Junior Lucas Kozeniesky continued his strong season by breaking the individual school record in air rifle with a score of 595, just five points shy of a perfect score.
