No. 10 Rifle Meets No. 7 Memphis in Gamecock Invitational

Wolfpack upset the ninth-ranked Tigers last season in Memphis

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 10^th-ranked NC State rifle team will head to Jacksonville, Ala., this weekend to take on No. 7 Memphis as part of the Gamecock Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State. The Wolfpack's match against the Tigers is slated to begin at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

NC State enters the weekend with a 16-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark against Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) foes. Memphis is 2-2 in conference action and defeated Navy in its last outing, 4663-4634.

The Pack was last in action at No. 14 Akron and collected a 4637-4630 win against the Zips.

Last season, NC State earned a #STATEment win against No. 9 Memphis in Tennessee, firing a score of 4633 to defeat the Tigers with a score of 4611.

The match will be the final competition for the Wolfpack during the 2015 calendar year. NC State will have nearly a month and a half before its next event Jan. 17.
