Quoting The Players
Maggie Speaks
On the team's performance…
"We've been working really hard in practice. Defense has been my weakest point so I've been trying to focus on that everyday in practice. Tonight I think defense was what won the match for us. We stayed really scrappy and tried to not let anything touch the floor. Defense is what wins games."
Â
On the team's energy…
"I think we've had a tough stretch of games and tonight we wanted to go out and get this win. We played for each other and came out with confidence, and we just need to continue to do that."
Â
Julia Brown
On team performance tonight…
"Because this weekend is senior weekend, we all wanted to come out and do it for the seniors. We've had a rough couple of weekends and I think that fueled us tonight. We've been working really hard in practice and everything came together tonight."
Â
On what helped her be successful in the match…
"We had great defense. We were getting up balls left and right and were getting touches on everything. We were aggressive in the hitting area and served tough. When we serve tough it puts pressure on their serve-receive and makes it easier for us."
Â
On third set comeback…
"I was really proud of us in that moment. We stayed loose - we tend to get tight and get in trouble there. We stayed confident and calm and it was a great way to start off the senior weekend."
