Bunn's Beat
Opening statement…
"Louisville's a really good team and they don't make many errors, " said head coach Bryan Bunn. "We didn't serve tough enough, they were in system way too much and they were able to side out too easy.
"We weren't aggressive enough today. We were timid with our serving and some of our swings offensively. You can't do that against a really good team because there's not much room for error."
Match Rewind
- In the first set the Pack kept close with the Cards, as the score was tied 11 times and the lead only changed three times throughout the set.
- Towards the end of the set, NC State went on a 5-0 run to take a 23-22 lead on Louisville, but the Cardinals managed to take the next three points to win the first set, 25-23.
- The start of the second set was a back-and-forth banter between the two teams, but then Louisville went on a 6-1 run to take a 12-6 lead and control of the frame. Kills by Louisville's Katie George and Janelle Jenkins gave the Cards a 25-18 victory in the second set.
- NC State came out in the start of the third set firing on all cylinders, holding a lead over the Cardinals for nearly half of the set. Louisville managed a 5-0 run to gain a 16-11 lead over the Pack and denied the Wolfpack's comeback attempt to claim the set, 25-18 and win the match, 3-0.
